BASIC Coaching Programme

Over the course of two full days in Autumn/Spring Term 2023-24, Twynham Learning colleagues, Kate Ball and Matt Cooper will teach and guide colleagues through Andy Buck's BASIC Coaching methodology. An outline of Andy's BASIC coaching methodology is available on his website - BASIC Coaching - and we would advise all delegates to have their own copy of his book - The Basic Coaching Method which can be purchased from Amazon by clicking HERE The BASIC Coaching course is suitable for leaders at all levels who wish to develop their ability to coach colleagues on their teams. Managing Health & Safety - Good Practice and Our Practice
Primary TA/HLTA Training Day – Supporting Primary PE And School Sport in Key Stages 1 & 2

Audience: HLTAs & TAs
This HLTA training day has been designed to allow staff to feel more confident when assisting with Physical Education (PE) lessons. Throughout the day there will be advice on how to raise attainment and fulfil the potential of all children and young people through PE. These are the key outcomes:
• To have an overview and understanding of the National Curriculum for PE
• To know what pupil progress looks like in PE
• To understand the importance of physical literacy and fundamental movement skills
• To be familiar with key skills/progressions in Gymnastics and Dance
• To gain an overview of Games and Athletics
Dress Code and Refreshments:
Delegates should dress for practical activity.

Physical Education CPD for PE Subject Leaders – Day 2
Youth Sport Trust Healthy Movers for EYFS/KS1

Audience: EYFS/KS1 Teachers
Healthy Movers is a one day course for reception teachers and early years practitioners in pre-school settings that focuses on how to develop the whole child through engaging, purposeful physical activities in the early years supporting the EYFS framework. It is also suitable for KS1 teachers and adults other than teachers who are looking to extend their practice. It will provide theory and practical ideas using the Youth Sport Trust Healthy Movers resource alongside the Healthy Movers at Home resource which is a set of games and activities to get children moving at home. The activities are designed to develop balance, movement and using objects in a fun and engaging way.
Dress Code and Refreshments:
Delegates should dress for practical activity.
